MILAN MILOJEVIC

Milan Milojevic was born in Tasmania to parents of Yugoslav and German heritage. He completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Printmaking) in 1976 at the Tasmanian School of Art where he is currently Senior Lecturer in charge of the Printmaking studio.

Milojevic was granted the 2004 Australia Council’s New Work Grant, and the Australian Research Council Grant (Digital Printing Research) in 1996, 1997 and 1998 consecutively. His work is represented in private collections in Australia and overseas, and public collections including: National Gallery of Australia, Canberra; Artbank, Sydney; Art Gallery of South Australia; Queensland Art Gallery; Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, Hobart.

A master of digital printmaking, Milojevic combines both natural and surreal elements to create evocative and mysterious picture planes which are both haunting and familiar to the viewer.
