Yifeng Tan was born in China and immigrated to Australia in 1990.  On his arrival he undertook a graduate diploma in printmaking at Canberra School of Art, however after graduating in 1993 Yifeng took up painting and has since held over 14 solo exhibitions in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne and China and has been involved in over 30 group exhibitions.  In 2006 Yifeng's work was selected to hang in the Sulman Prize at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
