Rona Green

 

Rona Green is a visual artist based in Melbourne, Australia. A fancier of characters and the absurd, her work examines the darker side of the psyche.Rona Green was born in Geelong, Australia in 1972. She studied at La Trobe University being awarded a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) Degree, and completed post-graduate studies in Visual Arts at the Victorian College of the Arts.

Her professional work experience includes being employed as a Printing Technician at the Australian Print Workshop (1999-2001). Presently she teaches in the Centre for Media, Design and Arts at Box Hill Institute.

Green has held regular group and solo exhibitions since 1994. Her work is represented in numerous public and private collections in Australia and overseas including the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra and Chiang Mai Contemporary Art Museum, Thailand.    She has been the recipient of several prizes for her printmaking, including the 2006 Silk Cut Award for linocut prints Grand Prize and the 2004 Swan Hill Print Acquisitive Award.  www.ronagreen.com
