Nicolas Goodwolf was born in Kempton, Germany in 1970. From 1992 to 1995 he studied graphic arts in Augsburg, Germany. In 1997 he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Tasmania, Hobart. In 2002 he achieved a Diploma of Education from Charles Sturt University, NSW. Nicholas has had over 12 solo exhibitions in Australia, Switzerland and Germany.
In 2005 Goodwolf was the recipient of the Claudo Alcorso Foundations Italian residency. The three-month residency was predominantly undertaken in Sicily where Goodwolf developed a body of work that began as a response to both the history and landscape of the place and eventually became an exploration of issues that have long been central to his practise.
